College Preparatory
College Preparatory
Our guiding assumption is that every student who walks through our doors is college bound and it is our job to provide students with the opportunity to be well prepared to gain entrance and be successful at the college of their choice, and in life after college. This requires a rigorous course of instruction, rich academic experiences, as well as, preparing the student to fulfill God’s call in all aspects of their lives by creating a balanced environment that is sensitive to the needs of the whole person.
HCA believes that college preparation begins in Pre-K3 with the expectation that every student will attend college upon graduation. Putting this belief into action, HCA maintains a solid foundation of high academic standards integrated with biblical truth; instilling Christian values while offering a challenging curriculum along with numerous excellent extracurricular programs is key to providing a well-rounded education.
College Career Readiness
The phrase “college prep” is often used as a descriptor for the academic standard for many private and Christian schools. For Heritage Christian Academy, the guiding assumption is that every student who walks through the door is college bound. Whether that is elementary, middle, or high school, it is the job of this school to provide each student with the opportunities necessary to be well prepared for college entrance, as well as leading them to make informed decisions to find the best college fit. HCA seeks to empower its students to be successful throughout their academic career, but also looks to lay a strong foundation to impact a lifetime.
The college process can be overwhelming for both students and parents, but our counselor helps guide families to make it manageable and facilitates the multifaceted process. From student application, scholarships and transcripts, to helping the parents navigate the financial aspect, each step is covered in detail.

Technology
Technology represents a unique opportunity to enhance our students' learning experience. HCA continues to expand its resources to embrace that perspective. Every room is equipped with the devices needed for teachers to draw students into learning through technology integration.
We are 1:1 with Chromebooks from 4th to 12th grade in order to provide personalized learning experiences from elementary to graduation. Additionally, our campus offers various opportunities for students to experience 21st century learning.
- Computer Lab capable of graphic design and video editing
- Upper elementary science curriculum with hands-on labs and project-based STEM learning
- STEM lab with tools and equipment such as 3D printers and robotics
- Broadcast studio for Eagle-TV, a student-led news program
Learning Lab
HCA offers a Learning Lab program for students with diagnosed, mild learning differences, such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, ADD and other diagnosed disorders. The Learning Lab is designed to enrich and support existing classroom curriculum. It offers individualized teaching methods, and learning and testing strategies to meet each student's unique needs.
A meeting with the Learning Lab Director and grade level principal is required to discuss formal documentation, diagnosis and strategies that may have worked in the past. Placement in the Learning Lab is done only after a thorough analysis of information to determine that HCA can support a student adequately to promote academic success. Utilizing the Learning Lab will incur an additional fee.
