Technology
Beginning in Kindergarten through grade 12, technology is incorporated into our regular core curriculum as well as highlighted in stand alone courses. Computers courses are a required part of the curriculum from kindergarten through grade 8. Students in high school are required to earn at least 1 credit in a technology rich course. In all other courses, all teachers model digital citizenship and guide students into technology literacy to help them gain the technological skills and knowledge needed to live in a global and digital society. Our technology courses follow the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) standards.
Elementary Technology
The primary goal of technology in K5-2nd grade is to reinforce classroom instruction, provide additional support, and extend student learning.
K5-2nd grade classrooms have 4-5 student computers for use during stations. These stations support learning through web-based activities that reinforce classroom instruction and provide enrichment opportunities.
- 1st and 2nd grade students receive instruction in keyboarding and foundational computer skills during their computer special.
