¡Hola!  My name is Stephenee Hernandez, and I am blessed to be teaching elementary and secondary Spanish at HCA.  This is my eighth year in education, and I am so grateful to be spending it in such a wonderful, Christ-centered environment.

I have known since I was a child that I would be a teacher.  I graduated from Texas A&M - Commerce in 2006 with a BA in Early Childhood Education.  I started my career teaching second grade in Lovejoy ISD, where I taught for six years.  I stopped teaching for a while after my son was born but the call to teach never left my heart.  In 2019, I started subbing at HCA as well as helping in the After Care program.  During this time, I had the opportunity to be the long-term sub for secondary Spanish.  I was beyond excited when the door opened to be the full-time Spanish teacher this year.  It never ceases to amaze me how God works in our lives (and fulfills dreams we didn’t even remember we had)!

My husband, Guillermo, and I have been married for 11 years and have two children together — Will, who is 9, and Katherine, who is 3.  We have been an HCA family since 2017, when Will started kindergarten.  He is now in 4th grade and Katherine just started K3 this year.  We love HCA and are so thankful to be part of this community!

I look forward to sharing my love of Jesus as well as my love of the Spanish language and culture with your children.  What a privilege it is to see what the Lord will do in their lives this year...¡en español and inglés!
