This is my thirteenth year to teach PK3 at HCA and I love my job. I have a passion for preschool and young children. However, I didn't always feel this way. I began my career in the upper grades because I didn't want to tie shoes, etc. Now I have to do a lot more for the children than tie their shoes and I don't mind a bit! I believe I'm just where God wants me to be. I've worked at other schools, but there's no place like HCA. It's my happy place. I consider it a privilege to work in
a building full of kind, godly, and supportive people.

As I mentioned, I've worked at other schools teaching third grade, fifth grade, and kindergarten. I began my career in Baytown, TX working for the Goose Creek CISD. Then I worked for the Lafayette Parish School Board in Lafayette, LA. (Lafayette had some great food!) My last job before HCA was at Christ Community School in The Woodlands, TX teaching kindergarten. I loved all my jobs, but there's no place like HCA!

I sometimes joke that all I do is eat, sleep, and work, but that's not exactly true. I'm an avid reader and a Jane Austen fanatic. I love mysteries and the Christian writers C. S. Lewis, Philip Yancey, and A. W. Tozer. Cooking is my other hobby. I won't tell how many cookbooks i have (a lot!). I like to read them too.

My greatest joy is spending time with my family. My three children are in their thirties and I have two beautiful, brilliant granddaughters.  I'm also the eldest of three sisters, and we are all in the DFW area, so I get to spend quality time with the "girls" pretty often.

In closing, I'd like to say how thankful I am for the privilege of teaching the little ones about Jesus. I consider it an honor to work for the Lord at HCA and I'm truly thankful for everyday that I get to come to school.
