Hello! I am Amber Panter, and I serve as the counselor for secondary students. It is my goal to provide all students with not only the academic guidance they will need to pursue higher education after graduation but also with social and emotional support and education to navigate an ever-changing world. I received my B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and M.A. in School Counseling from Amberton University. I have been in education since 2007 and taught middle and high school Spanish before becoming a school counselor.
I have been married for 16 years to my husband, Josh. We met in high school in east Texas, and God kept reuniting our paths until we married in 2007. Growing up, I never planned on becoming a teacher or school counselor. But as I often tell people, I should have asked God about it sooner. My journey would have been easier, as it always is when we are living in His will. Josh was also in education for 12 years as a teacher and coach. His love of math and numbers presented a different opportunity a couple of years ago, and now he serves as a financial advisor. We have two boys and they attend HCA. Sawyer is in 6th grade, and Jonah is in 4th grade. Sawyer loves math, basketball, football, and anything competitive. Jonah loves to rollerblade (even in the house!), play piano, and any kind of sport you ask him to play. We are so grateful for the opportunities that God has provided us and for the people that He has put in our lives. To say we are blessed is an understatement.
As a school counselor, I have the privilege of guiding our students academically, social-emotionally, and spiritually. It is extremely important to me that students leave one day with extensive career guidance grounded in sound biblical doctrine that keeps them unwavering in their faith and future endeavors. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to serve the students of HCA and further God’s kingdom through them!
