Brittney Russo

I am so blessed to be a part of the Heritage Christian Academy family for my 8th year. I teach 9th/10th English, Psychology, and lead the yearbook staff in creating our yearbook.

I received my B.A. in psychology from Texas Tech University (wreck ‘em!) and my M.Ed from Dallas Baptist University. Before the education world, I had dreams of becoming a Christian counselor. I wasn't far into DBU's counseling program when I felt the Lord tug at my heart and tell me that he wanted me to become a teacher. My goal each year is to help kids find their new favorite book and/or create something amazing. In my classroom, students are encouraged to ask a lot of questions, think critically, and strive toward personal understanding. My classroom's motto is read, write, and repeat. You'll probably also hear me reminding students frequently to "make wise choices".

When I'm not at school, I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I love to travel and typically go somewhere new each year with my friends. I attend church and serve at FBC Rockwall. I’m an avid movie watcher and reader. I am so excited that we are getting to teach, serve, and love your kiddos. It’s going to be a great year!
