Brittney Russo

I am so blessed to be a part of the Heritage Christian Academy family for my 9th year. I teach 10th-grade English, a Psychology elective, and lead the yearbook staff in creating our wonderful HCA yearbook.

I received my B.A. in psychology from Texas Tech University (wreck ‘em!) and my M.Ed from Dallas Baptist University. Before the education world, I had dreams of becoming a Christian counselor. I wasn't far into DBU's counseling program when I felt the Lord tug at my heart and tell me he wanted me to become a teacher. Each year, I aim to help kids find their new favorite books and write amazing things. In my classroom, students are encouraged to ask a lot of questions, think critically, and strive toward personal understanding. My classroom's motto is read, write, and repeat. You'll probably also hear me reminding students frequently to "make wise choices".

When I'm not at school, I spend a good amount of time with my family and friends. I love to travel and typically go somewhere new each year with my friends. I attend church and serve at FBC Rockwall. I’m an avid movie watcher and reader. I am so excited that we are getting to teach, serve, and love your kiddos. It’s going to be a great year!
