Brittney Russo

I have been incredibly blessed to be part of the Heritage Christian Academy family since 2015. I teach English, a Psychology elective, and lead the yearbook staff in creating the HCA yearbook. You might also see me attending mission trips with the school or supporting the students at their extracurricular activities.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from Texas Tech University (wreck ‘em!) and my M.Ed. from Dallas Baptist University. Though I originally pursued a path in Christian counseling, I felt the Lord redirect my steps toward education—and I’ve never looked back. In the classroom, I strive to help students discover books they love and build confidence in their writing. Students are encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and have empathy towards others, all while using Scripture and Truth to guide their thought processes. You'll often hear me reminding students to "make wise choices."

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling to new places, and participating in church life at FBC Rockwall. I'm also an avid movie watcher and reader. It’s a joy to teach, serve, and invest in the lives of our students at HCA!
