Wyatt Ashlock

I’m Wyatt Ashlock and this is my first year on staff at Heritage. However, I attended HCA from 1st grade through senior year so HCA is my second home. I have seen this school grow in miraculous ways over the past 17 years. I wanted to contribute to something bigger than myself by returning to Heritage to help raise the next generation into a group of leaders on fire for God.

I attended Ouachita Baptist University double majoring in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Film and Video and Theatre Arts earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. While in college I was the student director for the Ouachita Sports Digital Network (OSDN) and the Arts and Entertainment/Opinions Editor for The Signal newspaper. While at Ouachita, OSDN won the Television General Excellence award for the Arkansas College Media Association (ACMA). I was awarded third place for Television Producer/Director of the Year for ACMA and first place in Online Arts & Entertainment Review for my movie review of “Elvis” (2023). I also received second place and honorable mention for two other movie reviews for the ACMAs.

My passion in life is film and telling stories. I love making short films and making people feel seen and heard. When I am not working on films, I watch them and review them on my website. My top 4 movies are “Bolt” (2008), “Dune Part Two” (2024), “The Wild Robot” (2024) and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021). I am a nerd who loves Marvel, DC, Disney, Star Wars and more. I also have started my own party character company that sends movie characters to children’s birthday parties and special events.
