I am beyond excited to be a member of the Heritage Christian Academy family. I grew up in a small Christian private school, First Baptist Academy in Downtown Dallas, many years ago. I can honestly say it feels like I am back at home at HCA.

My husband, Jason, and I live in Heath. We have been blessed with two sons. Prayton, who attends Texas Tech University, and Jaxton, who is in high school at HCA.  Both of our boys play ice hockey, so let me just add, “Go Stars”!

I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. As a little girl, I would line my toys up and teach them for hours in my playroom.  School was not always easy for me; I was more of a social learner. My second-grade teacher referred to me as her little flight attendant. I would check on everyone in the room as I walked to the trash can and then back to my seat.  They say that most people choose a profession based on things that have either made an impact on them or that they have worked hard to overcome. Teaching became my passion. I graduated from Texas A&M Commerce with my undergraduate degree in Education in 1995.  After teaching in the classroom for five years, I could feel God calling me to help children in other ways. I earned my master’s degree in School Counseling and became a school counselor in 1999.  I was a school counselor for 21 years.  God began moving again during the spring 2020 pandemic shutdown. Schools went remote, which meant I was working full time from home as a school counselor while playing the role of teacher for my own children. I LOVED IT!  I had missed teaching so much.  God opened the door for me to join HCA in July of 2022, and I am in awe of His majestic work as I see HIS plan unfolding each day. I cannot wait to share my passion for learning and my love for my Savior, Jesus Christ, with your child.

GO EAGLES!
