Alan Engle has served as Executive Director of Curriculum & Instruction at Heritage Christian Academy since 2017. With more than 30 years of experience in classroom teaching and educational leadership, he is passionate about equipping teachers and strengthening instructional excellence across the school.
In his role, Alan partners closely with faculty to design and refine a cohesive, rigorous curriculum grounded in best practices. He champions authentic assessment practices that provide meaningful insight into student growth and leads the development of professional learning experiences that support continuous improvement. His work is centered on collaboration, clarity, and cultivating a culture where teachers are empowered to thrive, and students are prepared for success.
Alan and his wife, Jennifer, share a lifelong commitment to education. Jennifer serves in a neighboring school district and has over 30 years of experience as both a classroom teacher and staff development leader.
Together, they are proud parents of three accomplished young adults:
- Arielle, their oldest, holds a Master of Fine Arts in Radio, Television, Video & Film and works in the film and television industry in Atlanta, Georgia.
- Ian is a Senior Associate in the auditing division of a large international accounting firm headquartered in Dallas.
- Madison, the youngest, earned an advanced degree in behavioral psychology and serves in the Emergency Department of a major urban hospital in Atlanta.
Alan is deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve HCA and values the partnership between school, faculty, and families in shaping the next generation.
